An MIT has set out to develop MIT App Inventor 2 , an intuitive development environment that intends to allow us to develop fully operative apps for smartphones and tablets in under 30 minutes. It's a piece of software based on a block construction system which reduces development times significantly when compared to the usual development environments. This is not necessary if you choose to use WiFi in step 4. You can define a start text, which will be passed to your app in method 'get plain start text' and trigger some action after your app is started.
Also of course works if your app is not running. You also can define several alarms, just use a different id for each alarm. Barometer Sensor Extension to get the current pressure and altitude. My boss helped me test AI2 app for viability a couple of years ago. We decided to go all in and publish on the Play Store and Apple store. It is costly. Not easy. Then the time is the costliest of all. We will never break even but maybe we are selling more of our hardware? Google and Apple are always changing, making it harder to publish. I published my first apps AI2 on the Play Store. After learning AI2, was it hard to learn Xcode and Swift?
Would you recommend that App Inventor users who want to move to iOS learn that same stack? Thank you very much for taking the time to share!
