If you don't see it, you may have either not signed in to the app or opted in to the Insider Preview Program. Toggle the option, and a new setting will appear. Click the Change Folder button next to the option, and select a different directory. This is the global folder for Xbox games, so you can't choose a new one for each game. Go to any game's page and click the Install button. It should show your new folder as the destination.
This is a welcome move for users with limited storage space on their C: drive. And even if you only have a single drive in your computer, you may still find it useful to have the option to choose where the games get installed.
When the game gets installed, you can manage it from the Xbox app, and click the Browse button to open its folder in File Explorer.
This allows you to mod the games. The Xbox PC app will indicate whether a game supports mods or not, so keep an eye out for that before downloading a game. Of course, this may not seem like groundbreaking features, if you compare it with the like of rival storefronts such as Steam, GOG or Epic Games, but it is great to see that Microsoft is listening to feedback from gamers. You can play on a Windows PC. Please check the individual game detail pages to confirm if your machine specifications and operating system version meet the minimum requirements set forth by the developer. Certain games may require the latest Windows update. Games will not be deleted from your hard drive until you delete them, even if they have been removed from the Xbox Game Pass library. However, once a game leaves the Xbox Game Pass library, you will need to purchase a digital copy from the Xbox app or the Microsoft Store, insert a disc, or obtain another form of entitlement to continue playing the game.
Each month, Xbox will update the Xbox Game Pass library and share information about new games coming via the Xbox Game Pass social media channels. The Xbox app on Windows PC will walk you through the setup process. The recurring billing feature is switched on by default, meaning you'll automatically pay for a new subscription period when your current period ends. Choose to manage the game, and there delete the local save game copy.
You can also use your home network to copy games and apps from one console to another. Check the box to allow network transfer. You can view your purchase and download history for your account on the Microsoft website. You can filter that list down to Arcade Games, or Full Games to view just the games you have got, or you can view the full list which includes things like apps and DLC. All given links now point to a landing page saying you should download the Xbox app on PC or your phone.
There is no such section online. I'm not sure how far this will go back in time, since I only started buying digital games 2 years ago. It is not a full library of your games, but at least you should be able to see if you own a specific game or not.
At present, there is no way to view a list of all of the games you currently own. Instead, you can look at available games on a specific console, and games you have deliberately purchased. You can view all of your Microsoft Store purchases through your order history, found here.
Make sure that you have "Digital" and "All available" selected from the left hand menu. This will show you all digital purchases on record. I can personally go back as far as May of ; for me, at least, this represents my entire digital purchase history.
It will not show you games that you own through the Games for Gold program, as these transactions did not count as actual purchases. You should be able to look at all available games, as well as all of the games made available through the Games for Gold program. As mentioned, this will show many games from other consoles, specifically when looking at the majority of the Xbox titles that are compatible and can be installed to Xbox One and Xbox Series XS consoles. You may be missing the few titles that are not backwards compatible, in which case they will only show up on Xbox consoles.
